Tips for picking pumpkins
- Choose a pumpkin with a firm, dry stem and no soft spots. Carry it from the bottom, not by the stem.
- Weekends in October are the busiest days. Weekday afternoons are much quieter.
- Some patches sell pre-picked pumpkins from a field display. If you want to cut your own from the vine, check that the farm offers it.
